Hi, my name is Nakita, and this is a photo of me and my little rockstar, Rocky 💛(Yes, that’s where the name of our business comes from.)

Even though this is a business, this started as something much more personal. I’m on a mission to help autistic children build swimming confidence as early as possible.

The statistics around drowning for autistic children (and even adults) are honestly heartbreaking. So many of our kids are at risk because they can’t swim yet, struggle to understand danger, or don’t respond well to verbal instructions.

If you’re reading this, I probably don’t even need to explain the fear. You already know it. It’s something we live with every day as parents.

So what can we do together?

We can teach our babies, our children, and our loved ones how to swim.

And while we’re doing that, if your rockstar is anything like mine (non-verbal or limited speech), we can also support communication at the same time.

For me, teaching Rocky how to swim feels more important than almost anything else. More important than toilet training. More important than milestones. Teaching him how to survive will always be my number one priority.

Another big fear for us is eloping. And we know that autistic children and adults who wander are at a much higher risk of drowning. I can’t solve everything at once, but this is one thing I can focus on.
